Martina Špinková is graphic designer, artist, writer, co-founder of Cesta domů. Born 1959 in Prague, studied at Charles University and Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, is active in the field of graphic design, art and palliative care. She has published over 80 illustrated books in 8 European countries, 3 books of poetry, one book of true stories from hospice called Tiny Good News and four picture books for children. She was twice awarded a prize The Most beautiful Czech Books (2011 Gypsy Fairytales and 2015 Fear-Brother Like no Other), one nomination on Gold Ribon (Czech IBBY) (2017 Matt the Cat, You Are All right) and prize SUK (2019 The Mystery).

Together with her friends  she has founded Hospice Association Cesta domů  in 2001 and had worked as a director of this association for 10 years and then 6 years as chief editor of little publishing house Cesta domů. She is married to Štěpán Špinka and they have seven adult children. Martina lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic.
